Is there any possibility, in anyone's experience, that the crack could only be in the finish? ![]() I re-tuned the guitar and it has stayed in tune overnight. The neck/headstock feels solid and I can't flex it or open the crack up (although I haven't tried slackening the strings) At the end of the crack I can see a tiny bit of mahogany showing. The crack is quite tight, I can't get a piece of paper or a feeler gauge in it so I'm not sure how bad it is. ![]() I guess I was lucky that it was a carpeted wooden floor and not a stone one! The guitar was still in tune apart from the 3rd string down to F and and the 4th string a little out. The 3rd string tuner that hit the floor has survived and is still straight. ![]() ![]() There is a crack in the neck finish on the 1st string side - it runs from the bottom of the nut slot, down into the neck. What a bang, then panicking, checking for damage. My 1990 LPC fell to the floor yesterday - I had it strapped on and crouched down, I stood back up again and the strap button pulled out - 10lb 7oz of guitar fell straight down and hit the floor landing on the side of the body and the side of the headstock, I think the 3rd string tuner taking most of the hit at that end.
